ABA ARTISTS CRIES FOR MEDIA RESCUE
Music in Nigeria is experiencing a massive raise with the help of media houses, disc jokers, bloggers, OAP’s etc but the story is not the same with artistes in Aba as many artists in Enyimba city has frowned at the lack of attention being giving to them by most, if not all the media and promotion houses, especially 102.9 magic Fm,MCL,and NTA which has the highest listeners in the state and beyond.
The furious artists who sent a mail to currentnaija.com claimed that in the past their songs were not being played because the staffs of Enyimba house medias always accused them of working with wack studios which in turn brings low production but now the ”Enyimba big boys” like Xten, Exnel, Six2boi, Babyboy, Evidence, BC, Master G, Rolexboi, collenshy, krystal and others have been working with big producers like Major Bangz, eastern heavyweight producer Kezyklef, TSpize, and other Aba based super producers like Obosky, Donseth, shakerman, chibysky Six2boi and Dalukes yet there songs like Xten’s ”dorotido”, Exnels ”uwa na acho ikpu”, Babyboy’s ”i am sorry”, Evidence ”show your ticket”, Six2boi’s ” ana eko” and Master G’s ”hustles prayer” are not being heard in the media houses and promoters in Aba like DJ Kolo, Osinanwata production, Senior mixes and Another level and even OAP’s always organize programs , selections and mix-tapes for the likes of Phyno, Olamide, Patoranking, D’banj, Davido, Wizkid and others which gives them more notice thereby limiting the existence and circulation of Aba songs
He continued by saying that lack of big artists in Aba is due to lack of attention and appreciation being giving to them by the medias and promoters in the state, he suggested that if the media house start giving recognition to the artists which brings appreciation from the fans will motivate the artists to continue with the standard of current Nigerian songs, he also advised that things like Enyimba top 10, song of the week, songs of the month will attract more attention to Aba music industry as a whole.
Gentle, who is seen as a younger version of Tuface in the country is well known in states like Lagos, Enugu, IMO, Anambra, PH, etc is hardly known in Aba as he could walk freely in the city without recognition, he is popular in those states because of the massive airplay and hype but bloggers in Aba like currentnaija.com, africanbaze.com, abamp3.com, Ameboworld.net, Apokanation.com, Netnaija.com do not help issues as non of them ever give it a thought to hype artists like their Lagos counterparts.
